He is lying back on the couch
as he takes a swig from
a cold can of Coke Zero.
Although he isn’t standing,
I can tell that he is taller than average.
However, his immense stature
truly reveals itself
once he pulls himself off the couch and
rises to his feet.
Towering at around six foot five,
I wonder if the
air is thinner up there.
He looks like a prime candidate
for the linebacker of a high school football team with his
broad chest and strong arms.
Beneath his thick eyebrows,
I can see a playful twinkle in his
honey colored eyes.
A scruffy beard hides the two
lower quadrants of his face
and dirty blonde hair covers his head,
sticking up in more than one place.
His lips are full
and he sends a shy, half-smile my way,
letting me catch a glimpse of his
perfectly aligned pearly whites.
He wears a no-name-brand, wrinkled t-shirt
and a worn pair of blue jeans.
There are no shoes on his feet,
only a pair of stark white socks.
I watch him shuffle across the
cherry wood floor
to the other side of the room,
pop a CD in the stereo, and
turn
up
the
volume.
All I have been doing lately is school, babysitting, FYE (and sometimes I even get a chance to sleep). I've been beyond busy/beyond exhausted. School is either so mundane, or so ridiculously juvenile. I can't even handle it. Everybody just needs to relax and get along and stop worrying about everything everyone is doing. Half the time, I think people make problems for themselves. Anyway, speaking of problems.. I got in trouble with that crazy librarian because apparently my language is "less than acceptable" (friggen?!). Alright, so she calls me house.. which was amusing to me, but my mom didn't really think so. Whatever, I know I didn't do anything too bad.
On a better note, I ended up not babysitting today (rather, I just went to pick up my money from last week) so I came home and slept for about 4 hours, and now I feel so much better. I've been even more exhausted than usual because I'm sick with.. something. This cough needs to go away.. and so does this manly voice.
Overall, I'm happy with the way things are going.. although I can think of a few things that could improve, but I guess everything just needs a little time, you know? I guess good things come to those who wait.
